Confirmed from Moorefield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lush neighborhood spot with plenty of open space & walking trails, plus a dog park.
What runners say about Moorefield Park
“It has a nice mix of shade and sun, is of decent size, and offers fresh water.”
“All the folks are very friendly, and the dogs just love the sniffing, the chasing, and the play fighting!”
This review is specific to the dog park. The park is big enough, but not big. The base layer for the park is rock dust. The pros: small, but useful perimeter lights for the last bit of playtime before complete nightfall, dog wash station, with hose hooked up to running water, 2 poop bag stations which are typically…
It has a nice mix of shade and sun, is of decent size, and offers fresh water. There are several benches for humans. The crowd, canine and human, is overwhelmingly friendly, and most humans quickly respond if their dog acts aggressively. Ive never seen a violation of a posted rule.
Free park to the public. My dog had fun in the dog park and then walking around the many paths. We passed by a tennis court, two beach volleyball courts, baseball fields, exercise equipment, a playground, and bird houses.
Decent sized dog park with a fenced area for your dog to run with others. They provide drinking water and small pools in the summer as why any dog park, keep an eye on your dog and their interactions. I've had to pull my dog (8 month Aussie) out pretty quickly a couple times because of issues with more aggressive dogs.
Trail conditions & character
“It would be better if they didn't have a wooden dog ramp as well as a tree stump in places that obstruct running slightly.”
“It has a nice mix of shade and sun, is of decent size, and offers fresh water.”
“It's an accessible dog park with immediately adjacent parking.”
