Confirmed from Meadowside Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Meadowside Nature Center

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (209 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“Nice trail network surrounding the nature center area, a beautiful creek crossing with large stepping stones to Lake Frank Trail”

Hands on Fun! This Nature Center feels more like a museum. The rooms and exhibits make you feel a part of the history of Montgomery County, Maryland. The kids can interact with the displays including the two cave areas.

★★★★☆ — Sylvia , Jan 2019

The center is nice. They have four birds (bold eagle, two hawks and one more), couple of turtles, eastern snake, corn snake, walking sticks. The exhibits were nice and interesting. The grounds and trails are also very nice.

★★★★☆ — Veronika , Feb 2020

Raptor Festival held on Saturday was a great event with the event being presented extremely well and organized. The Nature Center itself is a fun place to visit full of birds, trees, rabbits and deer. There are many trails to walk and you can bring dogs here as long as they are leashed.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
