Confirmed from Memmen Ridge Open Space's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with 43 forested acres and an 8-ft.-wide concrete trail that connects to unpaved paths.
What runners say about Memmen Ridge Open Space
“That being said, it is a great trail and full of flowers and gorgeous trees.”
“Good, easy hike - would benefit from improved trail maintenance and signage, which is generally a benefit enjoyed at most CR open space trails.”
Great family and pet hike. My six and seven year old had no problems. Stay on the dirt trail as there is cactus 🌵 everywhere.
Overall it is a decent single-track trail made up of rock, dirt, and some sandy-type areas. It could use a little maintenance, some of the weeds are growing into/ over the path. Because the path is very narrow, I am glad we did not encounter anyone else until the end of our hike.
Nice ez walk in town. It feels far removed but it's nestled among housing and a school. The trails are very easy. It's a great family hike. Just a short distance away if you live in Castle Rock it's a hop skip and a jump. I will definitely come back sometime.
Love to take my dog for walks here on the weekend in the summer. It's a fun and easy day hike.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
