The Memorial Park in Red Wing, Mn was an excellent choice for the day. The upper Quarry had a disc golf course, walking trails and an historical structure to explore. The lower quarry had trails beyond trails which kept the girls happy but my dogs were barking by the end of the day.
This is a great place to go for a short hike or take the kids for a picnic. There was a large community fire Ring, mini picnic tables, a small hill to climb, and an entrance point for the mountain bike and snowshoe trails. There is enough parking for 8 or ten cars.
Best option to access a number of hiking trails; the other spots are more for quick viewpoint spots and casual biking.
