Confirmed from Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Memorial Park
“Cozy park with walking path, beautiful Magnolia trees, and rose bushes nestled in the Hampton Park Historic District of Sumter, South Carolina.”
I love this park. There have been some updates that are so great. It’s got a wonderful playground and swings. A good walk/win path and plenty of green spaces for other activities.
Great place to walk in town. Nice shady area. It's a great place to walk dogs. The only thing that ruins it is other who walk there dogs don't have their pets on leashes. Come on people, obey the leash law.

I take the grand kids here frequently. They LOVE the playground. It could be a little cleaner. I like that it has drinking fountain, bathroom, plenty of benches and picnic tables. Also, dogs are allowed, so I take my fur baby for walks around the path too.
Trail conditions & character
“Only thing holding it back is the fountain is never on and the permanent bathroom facilities have taken some time to put up.”

“We were checking out my husband's grandparents old house & our dog got to run free, briefly!”
“Suggestion: Installing a water fountain/ play station like the one at Palmetto Park, which would be great when the weather gets hotter.”
“If new to park it takes a few tries to figure out where parking lot is.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
