Nice trail….five stars because it signals progress. It will be even better when it connects both north and south. But let’s applaud solid progress!!!
I applaud the effort and the achievement. However if this is really intended as a multi-use trail it is too narrow. In the ideal world there would be two lanes for bikes, one going south and the other going north. A separate lane (so 3 lanes) would be clearly marked for pedestrians.
Hi MRGT, I walked the trail this afternoon since I could not make it last Friday for the ribbon cutting. Wow, I'm impressed on the trail. It is a lot more than I thought we would get years ago when we cleaned up the riverbank and pushed out the campers. A good plus is I did not get poison Ivy this time. Thanks.
It's so rewarding to see people of all ages and abilities using the trail. It will be even better when the connection is made to the segments by Terrill Park and over the new Loudon Road bridge, and who knows, maybe over the river to a deck-park by I-93.
