Confirmed from Midland Dog Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

If you're looking for a great place to let your dog run and play, look no further than the local dog park. This fenced-in area is perfect for dogs of all sizes and breeds to get some exercise and socialize with other dogs. The park is also well-maintained.

Cute park, with a playground, pond, dog park, skate park, and real trains to climb on. Also a marshy pond walk way.

★★★★★ — Melissa , Sep 2023

My favorite Gainesville park. It’s super clean and walking distance from tons of spots downtown. I love walking the doggos I dog sit here, beautiful safe spot for walks with family/friends. The dog park is a separate enclosed area.

★★★★★ — Jessica , Mar 2026

Beautiful park, pretty well kept except playground carpets need some repair, not sure if there's a restroom there but its needed, love the dog and skate parks and the lake. Excited to see what all is coming to the park soon since its a much needed place for kids, walking, biking, etc.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
