Rock Creek Veterans Park & Longwood Park (on Lake Lanier)have it all - a memorial to American Veterans, paved paths which makes it enjoyable and safe for all levels of walkers, runners, families with young children & dogs (terrific playground and even a small beach and tennis/pickle ball courts on Lake Lanier as well…
This park, along with its connecting parks, is one of our very favorite places to walk. It's very peaceful, tranquil, and scenic. Definitely worth the stop.
Happened across this beautiful park along side the creek on my roadtrip. Took a lovely walk on a nice spring day.
If you pick up the trail at midtown at the veterans memorial and walk towards the lake, it's all downhill but a very slight slope and you can walk all the way down to the lake where there is a big park. And if you do the return trip it is approximately 3 mi. A little bit over 3. Mi it's a nice walk.
