You move through a wide range of natural environments in one mile. This is one to take with caution due to roots and, most times of year, mud Carpeted with moss. lots of nurse trees. enormous old growth. Beautiful views.
Nice quiet trail..perfect for a 45min morning hike. Some up n downs and tree roots to scrabble over.. perfect for families with hiking kids.. not recommended for strollers or persons with walking challenges.
This trail was a new found favorite and we will definitely be back and will frequent often. The description of the location of this trail stated that it is near Toledo, however it is closer to Newport (just south of Newport). The topography and scenery is wonderful.
Any hike that engages my two kids is definitely worth writing about. They loved the tour guide map and finding all of the points of interest. It was fairly easy to navigate, although there are A LOT of tree roots to walk on and over.
