Confirmed from Milton Town Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Great views along the Ridgeline Trail, and good exercise, but bring bug repellent!”

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“Starting out with crushed gravel then changing to mini bridges and well marked trails.”

The only real downside to this place is the parking lot is pretty small and gets crowded fast. Everything else is great. Starting out with crushed gravel then changing to mini bridges and well marked trails. They have many different trails you can chose from.

Exceptionally marked trails, well kept. The woods are beautiful and very quiet. We were happy to find this little gem for a 4+ mile loop, and for a few small views. I’d recommend long pants if you’re afraid of ticks, as some of the trails have long grass sweeping in over the trail.

Rated as a moderate trail on All Trails. I'd rate it as easy...more of a trail walk than a hike. Sounds of traffic a little close for a chunk of the walk. Still... beautiful sights and smells. Enjoyable long walk with my dog. Signage was very clear and trail is well maintained.

Wonderful place to go for a hike. Many options to choose from with tons of canopy to hike under. It can get muddy in many places, wear appropriate footwear. Also bug spray would be good. Yes pk lot does get full and not much space but still doable.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
