Confirmed from Minot Outdoor Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Minot Outdoor Recreation Area
“I love it I like how it has benches with a great view and some of the trail is bumpy it so fun”
“Perfect challenging running trail, full loop is about 5km.”
Perfect challenging running trail, full loop is about 5km. Clean and good views
It has a nice paved path for walking, and if you are feeling a little more adventurous they have a huge area that has dirt paths into the foothills behind it. You can access that from trail that lead off the main area when you get to the back of the paved path.
We only touch a small portion of the park. Lots of trails here. Hope to ger back someday. There are hills and trails are narrow. Bring a trekking pole if you might have difficulties. There is plenty of parking and a portapotty at the entrance.
Great place to walk or run. Wheelchair friendly except for some hills but the path is wide and smooth for wheels. Also a great place for trail running and single track cross country mountain biking.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
