Confirmed from Montissippi County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling park offering playgrounds for kids, hiking, picnics, Frisbee golf, volleyball and a dog run.
What runners say about Montissippi County Park
“It’s also a stunning place to go for a run, fish in the river or take your kids to play!”
“Trails are well marked with plenty of benches along the way.”
What a beautiful park! So many walking paths and wonderful views. I had the pleasure of taking my maternity photos here and they did not disappoint. Absolutely gorgeous.
Absolutely incredible spot for engagement photos or family photos! This park has several amazing spots for photos! It’s also a stunning place to go for a run, fish in the river or take your kids to play! Definitely one of my new favorite places!
Montissippi Regional Park was fun. The girls and I saw a deer as we walked the trails, see photo. This was an active park that had a disc golf course and a boating dock. I was even able to put my feet into the Mississippi River.
My favorite monticello park. Things to do here are limitless. Right on the beautiful Mississippi River we love to fish, float and "hike". One of my most favorite times to visit is right after a fresh snow.

“Parking isn't obvious but the road is wide enough to find a spot relatively easily, even if it's not designated for parking.”
“The trails are wooded and parts of them sideline the Mississippi river.”
“:) *** NOTE, these photos include pups who are ALWAYS on-leash, we simply edit the leashes out of our photos.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
