Confirmed from Moraga Commons Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

A great place to bring the kids and the walking trail is so nice. Sometimes you see something amazing!

I go for the disc golf, but a nice, large park all around. It's nice they have a water fountain and running water bathrooms. Great nine hole course, one of the oldest on the area, that allows you to get some cardio and steps in with all the hills. (Update October 2024.

New updated course in moraga. Cool course for beginners and definitely some technical shots. Not too hilly but there are some Hill shots. Recommend giving it a try.

★★★★☆ — Vinny , Nov 2025

Moraga Commons Park is a perfect weekend spot for kids! Clean, safe playground, lots of fun equipment, and plenty of space to run and play. Great for families.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 6 mentions

“Almost never crowded, great spot to go relax and let the kids or dogs get their energy out.”

Plan your run at Moraga Commons Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
