Confirmed from Mount Airy B&O Old Main Line Rails to Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A fun simple trail slash path. Gravel for some but mostly paved between the Town of Moubt Airy and Walkins park. Mantained pretty well and just got a nifty bridge to make it an easier stroll if with less elevation changes. Ample places along to sit as well
The Mount Airy B&O Old Main Line Rails to Trails is a beautiful short walk from Watkins Park to downtown Mount Airy. It’s great they kept some of the rails & didn’t pave the trail.
Really enjoyed this rail trail. Some parts even have the rails still in place. Hope to see it extended someday.
We try to waik the trail every Saturday when this old body allows it. It is a great place to walk, lots of shade and places to sit.
