Confirmed from Mount Rachel Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Mount Rachel Trail
If you’re out walking this trail make sure to have your phone on you. Even though it’s well kept the trail does have section where leaves have made a bed. This is great hidden sanctuary for snakes. So don’t step on the bedded leaves. Other than that it was a great 1.6 mile hike. It is very hilly.
Not a difficult hike in the slightest, but there's not much going on in the area. If you want a nice hike, this is the place. Don't try for scenery
If you just want to hike,or nature walk peacefully, this place will give you that.
The trail needs a little up keep. There was garbage strown about on it. I only saw one garbage can. The trail is washed out in some spots on the switchbacks. It's still accessible, just needs to be fixed before it gets worse. It's spring, open the bathrooms
