Confirmed from Mountain View Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Mountain View Recreation Area
“Beautiful place to hike and mountain bike.”
“Gorgeous trails, very quiet and serene”
“Short easy trails for all ages.”
Beautiful trail and lots of nature. We went right after a storm after it all dried cant complain on upkeep because of the storm though i never finished the trail because it was very bumpy because of tree roots but overall nice trail under ideal conditions. Lots of spider webs
Pretty well maintained for a community trail. Classic trail has some challenging climbs, new addition is challenging to mountain bike due to all of the roots.
It was a beautiful quite place to hike! I'm sure it'd be even better when the trees actually have leaves!
Awesome trails, well groomed. Great experience! 6 miles of single track thats open to mountain bike and hiking, 3 mile main loop trail that has cut offs for shorter hikes.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
