Confirmed from Mueller Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking and biking destination featuring well-established paths shaded by trees and a campground.
What runners say about Mueller Park Trailhead
“It’s clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing outdoor experience.”
“This is a beautiful trail that’s well worth a visit, whether you’re just out for a short walk or planning a longer hike.”
“The trail is for the most part shaded all the way up except for a few short areas.”
“The scenery is peaceful and scenic, making it a great place to enjoy nature and get some fresh air.”
“Pretty technically trails but also pretty easy trail.”
I hadn't hiked for years and years but it was on my bucket list to do with the hubby. He asked me on a date to go for a "walk." He made sandwiches, packed fruit, water, and drinks so we could have a picnic in the woods.
Hikers, mountain bikers, horses, dogs and motorcycles are allowed on this trail. It gets very busy in the mornings and the evenings. Around 2:00 or 3:00 pm is the least busy time. There is room to park five or six cars right at the trailhead. Most people park down the road before you reach the trailhead.
Every year in end of May or early June, we try to come to Mueller Park to view the wild flowers. Wild onion, lupine, vetch, and sunflowers. We love hearing the river along the way. It is one of the best shaded trails in SLC.
Mueller is a busy trail with bikers, hikers, and trail runners. It is shaded in some areas and exposed in others. There are several connector trails that provide miles of beautiful views. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is due to the amount of people that use it.
