Confirmed from Mulholland Wildflower Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Beautiful place 🙏🏻🌼 it was too busy for me to get too far along and enjoy but I’ll be back to explore when the holidays pass.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Easy walk Can wade in the water (or swim if your careful).”

This is my absolute *favorite* nature spot in all of Ithaca. Not only is it relatively secluded, the paths are all clear and easy to walk. I've happened to find several little hide away spots as well that give me the perfect inspiration for my art and writing.

★★★★★ — Cheyenne , Aug 2019

Great trail along the water and saw a lot of beautiful plants- Trillium, Jack in the Pulpit, wild Geranium and others. Makes a little loop/turnaround at the end and the parking is easy to find and convenient. We also took my dog and she had a great time.

★★★★★ — Ouda , May 2025

Had a great hike to Second Dam, Potters Falls, and Third Dam. About 5 miles total with some wet weather falls along the way.

★★★★★ — Greg , Jun 2025

Fun place to hike or walk your dog. Not too busy during the week. Plenty of parking. No restrooms.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
