Confirmed from Nature Center At Shaker Lakes' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Nature Center At Shaker Lakes

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,006 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“This is an excellent marshland preserve with beautiful well maintained wheelchair accessible wooden elevated walkways, and numerous decks.”

So many great things to experience here! All the better since they’ve reworked the boardwalk and made it accessible from North Woodland and North Park. Also, the gazebo is GORGEOUS! Worth a trip just to see it. Make sure that you find out when they are doing bird banding and come watch.

★★★★★ — Bob , Nov 2021

This is a scenic spot for relaxing walks, especially during evenings when the light makes everything feel like a dream. A sprawling bridge complex takes you right into nature, through towering trees and luscious undergrowth. A variety of birds hopping between branches fill the soundscape with cheerful chirping.

★★★★★ — Meir , Aug 2022

These are just a few of so many beautiful sites along the trail. It's miles long of wonderful scenery and have no fear..plenty of sitting areas along the way for you to rest. ♥️

★★★★★ — Tina , Dec 2020

The trails are nice. The boardwalk is cool. The natural play area for kids is small but nice. The inside is small and not very interesting.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
