Confirmed from New River Trailhead at Fletcher Heights' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful hiking area with a paved trail and a covered picnic table.
What runners say about New River Trailhead at Fletcher Heights
“Good parking, 28 miles round trip south and back, Beautiful trail”
Very nice trail, lots of easy to read mile markers and plenty of benches along the way if you get tired. The people are very friendly and courteous. Refrigerated water fountain with dog fountain and bottle fill ups and a nice covered sitting area at this particular rest area.
Gorgeous tropical-looking walking path in a neighborhood. It’s so peaceful, even though it’s surrounded by houses. The only thing that might disturb the tranquility are the occasional bikers and motorcyclists. Despite its isolation, the hustle and bustle of the nearby roads are still audible.
I love that the city is adding these new trailheads to the New River Trail. My daughter and I park here to ride on a regular basis. The cold water station and the shaded picnic table are fantastic additions.
Peoria has done a nice job making the trail useful. There is a bike repair station air/wrench. The trail is paved concrete for walking/ riding. Someday it will connect all the way north to dixleta. To the south it connects pretty far, plus you can tap into the Glendale trails.
