Confirmed from Newhall Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Newhall Community Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,120 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“Couple of parking lots pretty big--free parking very nice Very clean well-maintained really nice park”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“It's a beautiful park nestled next to residential and restaurants.”

Nice and serene park for an evening walk. The park has more than enough parking space located in a good neighborhood. It also has a dog friendly lot where you can leave the dogs off leash. The pond and some areas can be cleaned.

The ground is a little wet this time of the year but the Creek is bursting. Lots of fresh air though. Recommend for a quiet walk or run.

★★★★☆ — Haronson , Dec 2021

I absolutely love this park, beautiful views, lots of animals, sweet people walking their dogs & soccer games always going on🔆 I love to walk/hike here, although I will say please be aware of the coyotes! There is plenty parking, bathrooms, many benches throughout the park, many trails and a dog park/area.

★★★★★ — Ale , Apr 2025

Nice park with an easy 1 mile path around the park to see lots of waterfowl and enough space to maintain social distancing. I wish that everyone would wear masks, but seems like a safe choice to spend an hour with my grandson.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
