Confirmed from Nixon Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful park lots to do, two main playground areas for different ages, splash area, pond and river with small trail surrounding, baseball field, tennis courts, pavilion, rest room building, climbing structure, swings, sand area with digging claw mechanism, also a balance beam and parallel bars.

We have always enjoyed this park. They had a fabulous beer garden last summer with games. The park is great and the river walk is kept nice too. There is a splash pad here in the summer with public large covered picnic table space.

This place was absolutely amazing! We had such great weather today, which made our day that much more fun! We all got wet in the splash pad area and we all walked the trails and enjoyed the beautiful scenery as we dried off in the sun. I definitely will be returning!😁 ☀️

What a lovely place to take your kids for fun at the splash pad or play at the huge playground with lots of room to run around. Also they have bands playing on Thursday nights which would be great for a date night or for the family to enjoy.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🤫 Quiet / uncrowded 3 mentions

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
