We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of NJCF Open Space yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about NJCF Open Space
“Hill and Dale Preserve is a beautiful and bucolic place to hike!”
Hill and Dale Preserve is a beautiful and bucolic place to hike! Rolling farm fields and views of mountains. Quiet and peaceful. Park on the lot off of Parsonage Lot road, and cross the street to get to the kiosk.
It is an incredibly lovely walk in the fields and offers an awesome view of Hunterdon County for miles. It is a relatively well-kept trail and makes for a great afternoon walk. I personally have yet to come across another person while walking through, so you most frequently have the serenity all to yourself.
