Confirmed from Cushetunk Mountain Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with well-marked and shaded hiking trails, including a challenging uphill climb.
What runners say about Cushetunk Mountain Preserve
“Of course this park has neat and clean camping area too and I am telling you will come here again and again if come once.”
“Beautiful place for hiking, the beginning is up to the mountain, then it is easy for the rest of the loop, good marked.”
“All trails are clearly marked and it is no where near as crowded as the neighboring Round Valley Reservoir.”
I found this hike while traveling home to NC from CT. I was getting a little tired of driving and needed to relax. The mountain and trail is next to a huge reservoir. The parking lot was gravel and we'll kept. I got shots of that and the trail map.
It’s medium to a tiny bit difficult but the views at the bottom with the lake is beautiful. The hike was moderately short but it took a bit more energy because of the uphill and downhills. Highly highly recommend!
Nice trail system here with some steep climbs. Trails in this park connect with trails in Round Valley State Park and Pickell Park (Readington Twp park) for some even longer hikes.
This is around a 3 miles hiking, if you keep between the red and white colors. Going up on the mountain is just one mile, then you go down other mile and you have a beautiful view of the lake! I advice %100 hiking here! As a big advice, use tons of repelente so you keep away mosquitos!
