Confirmed from North Beach County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Popular beach known for its sea glass and rocks and tide pools that requires good tide timing.

What runners say about North Beach County Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,125 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Fascinating rocks, loads of smelly seaweed (if you enjoy that, ha), and gorgeous weather the day we visited.”

Wow! Looking for Sea glass? This is great! We went during a low tide of 6ft. The beach was a bit skinny at this height. The hike is easy for most of the way, but there are some patches with rocks bigger than your hand and will be rough to navigate. We found plenty of glass, filling up half of a quart sized mason jar.

The kids found a variety of sea animals. There is pieces of sea glass to be found on this beach, however if you want to find bigger pieces, you have to walk down a rocky beach that is hard to walk. Make sure you check tide chart so you don't get stuck down the beach.

🌊Great beach. Not very crowded. Nice views of Whidbey island. Also a trail takes you farther into the grassy area. 🧺Picnic tables and shelter available. Also grass is maintained well for sit down as well. ♿️ Entry to the beach is a bit rugged and is not easily accessible. 🚽Portable toilets available.

Really great beach and park. Parking lot is big and there are bathrooms. If you like looking for sea glass then you'll love this place. Get on the beach and go left all the way to McCurdy Point. It's a long slow walk (because you'll be picking up sea glass the entire way) so bring a lunch and something to drink.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 13 mentions

“The parking area was nice, and we did see some police patrolling it so it seemed safe to park in.”
