Confirmed from North Chuckanut Mountain Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trail entry point for challenging mountain hikes featuring scenic overlooks, waterways & ridges.
What runners say about North Chuckanut Mountain Trailhead
“A well maintained and scenic trail system.”
“There are waterfalls, wooded hillsides and scenic overlooks.”
“For the other trails (Raptor ridge, Lost Lakes etc) I suggest the Washington Trails Association Hiking trails guide, and information for all ages, and levels (website).”
This is an excellent trail access for Chuckanut and Larabee State Park. There is plenty of parking in a stone lot. There are restroom facilities. There are many trail options for hiking and running. There are wooden boardwalks, bridges, and ample trail signs and maps.
Great spot for beginning hikers and access point to more advanced trail heads. Trail can be modified (choices of parths) for more, or less difficulty. Know it's also heavily used by mountain bikes. I was almost hit once.
A well maintained and scenic trail system. I would definitely recommend for trail running, family outings, or just a good ol' unplug from the hustle and bustle.
Ample parking. Good starting point for a walk to Teddy Bear Cove, Whatcom falls, or longer hikes to Larabee

“2 miles trekking, not too much elevation, pets are allowed and even have seen bikers.”
“This place is really good for medium and naive level trail seekers with most of the trail path being mud rather hard rock pebbles.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.

- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
