Confirmed from North Legacy Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Large place for walking and running trails, as well as paved bike paths.
What runners say about North Legacy Trailhead
“Well maintained and moderate ups and downs.”

“This is the best place to go for a walk, jog, or bike ride in Lexington.”
I LOVE the Legacy Trail! This is the best place to go for a walk, jog, or bike ride in Lexington. The north trailhead is across the street from the Kentucky Horse Park. Go a little over 4 miles and you are at a restroom and a drinking fountain.
Really great trail to get a long run or bike in. Very quiet, but a lot of rolling hills. There really aren't any easy access water stops along the way, so definitely bring hydration. There are porta potties, but restrooms are pretty scarce, too. Otherwise, I would recommend trying the trail out!
This is a great bike trail. We biked from the campground to the end of the trail at the horse park, under I-75, and through Spindletop. With the asphalt pavement, rolling hills, beautiful scenery, and rest stops with park benches this is a wonderful trail system for Lexington.
Very nice trail. Looks to be well maintained. Not very up and down hills. Very scenic. I enjoyed my ride.
