Confirmed from North mountain park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking, picnic and climbing area featuring rock formations, mountains, trails and desert scenery, plus picnicking amenities.
What runners say about North mountain park
“Free camping, beautiful views, tables, covered areas.”
“Good easy walking trails.”
What an awesome retreat. Just a few minutes outside of Casa Grande and close to the Tribal Land region. The scenery is breathtaking. Easily walk about 1 to 2 miles in one direction and see the incredible landscape of nature.
This is a really fun place, but please keep in mind that it's really in the middle of the desert. Make sure to bring your meal(s) and/or your drink(s) with you. because there will be nothing there for you to buy. Really, nothing. But the views are beautiful .
Great place to go hiking. It does smell quite a bit, and not in a good way. Lots of little wildlife to see. Super quiet, can't hear any cars or civilization.
Large park, good roads many picnic pavilions. The geographic features are amazing. Definitely worth a trip. Easy hiking for all ages.
