The first 10 minutes before you get to the real trail, is a walk in small gravel sand. It's a bit hard to walk in but it's very good for the feet, so I was told...and is very doable. Once you get to the trail with normal soil, you'll find a bench where you can rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
This is a great Trailhead to walk. You get a great workout walking along the sandy wash but it's also easy enough. I totally enjoyed the quiet surroundings and beautiful views. There were very few people so I got the alone time I really wanted. It's a trail worth looking into.
This is probably the most remote of all the park entrances, both in terms of parking and people on the trail. There are great views on the drive in that haven't been spoiled by houses yet. As soon as you leave the parking lot, you enter a tree- and bush-lined wash and feel like you're completely alone in the world.
This review is pertaining to the parking lot and the Rocky Wash Peak trail itself. The parking lot in itself is a bit small, and as others have mentioned does not have restrooms or water- so make sure you come prepared. You also have to parallel park- it appears as there is no marking for regular parking.
