Confirmed from North Oconee River Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

Beautiful trail. Clean. And I love snakes. The big black ones won't hurt you. So please just leave them alone. Unless you're like me, and just want to catch/play with it for a minute. They are mean AF tho, rat snakes. So....be careful 😎

This is the best place to bike in Athens. Our 7 and 10 year old are able to do the whole trail (or all the trail I know about). It's all paved, mostly shaded, and lots of fun to go from the Sandy Creek Nature Center to the downtown area. We usually stop at Lexington Rd.

Love the paved path. Sometimes, you just want to go on a quick p but peaceful walk. This is the place.

★★★★★ — Laura , Jul 2024

There are many places to park along the greenway and hop right on with bikes or to walk on. Very relaxing atmosphere and well paved paths. There are many benches along the way to sit and relax and it appears many side paths have been worn out by people frequenting this place and some of them lead to some awesome sites…

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
