Confirmed from Northwoods Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is an EPIC trail system in an incredible environment! Facilities are exceptional, bike repair stations for serious riders. They are in the process of expanding the trails to join downtown, and adding a one of a kind ride across the top of a killer limestone dam from the 1800s!!!

Great trails, well kept, and gorgeous. Got in early in the morning and it was extremely peaceful and quiet. Used a gravel bike with 700x38 tires on the green and blue trails. I’d recommend a dedicated mountain bike with disc brakes for the blue trails and up.

Northwoods is great. Came in from out of town to explore the trail system. Rented a bike from Parkside and had a blast. Trails are well built. Easy is navigate with the maps and hubs. Looking forward to returning.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
