Confirmed from Norwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Neighborhood park with a pool, playground, dog park, rollerblading skate park, and athletic facilities.

What runners say about Norwood Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (121 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

In 2004 I graduated from Taft H.S. I walked by this park almost every day on my way to school, tired, exhausted, not happy with life. The track field always made me look at it and was calling to try, too bad I waited till 2022 to try it, but let me tell you it's great.

★★★★★ — Simplejan , Jul 2022

Great Chicago Park. Love playing basketball on the courts, or walking the area around the park. Has a lot of benches and swings for kids.

★★★★★ — Matthew , Dec 2020

Nice park and neighborhood to take healthy walks, inexpensive workout spot inside, especially for seniors!

★★★★☆ — Alberto , Apr 2021

Very nice quiet but safe park! I just wish the running track was made of rubber or pavement

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 18 mentions

“Dog park, playground, swimming pool (not sure if anyone can go in, I've been in it) and it's got a hockey area.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
