Confirmed from OC Fisher Dam Walk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about OC Fisher Dam Walk
“Has 1/4 mile markers to identify how far you walked”
“Easy walking on the dam, no facilities available, very few distance markers and they are difficult to spot.”
This was a pretty good little walk, or would even make a great bike ride. Round trip I did about 14 miles, though it does extend a little further. Its pavement the whole way so wear some shoes made for that. The view of the lake and surrounding area is pleasant. Easy to get too and doesn't cost anything.
Great 24/7 access asphalt-paved trail for running, walking, biking, etc. I have biked to the other side and back several times, which makes about a 13.2 mile round trip. Be careful though, as there is no shelter from gusty winds which can cause you to veer close to the edge and make a return trip very difficult.
Walking on top of the dam is very enjoyable. It's a flat, even surface, with no traffic to worry about other than cyclists. Do keep an eye out for the rare snake who may like to bask in the sun on the dam's surface.
For sure one of the coolest spots in town to go for a walk. There are no trees or places for shade so I recommend bringing a hat or umbrella and a bottle of water especially if going on a walk when the sun is up in the summer!
Trail conditions & character
“It's a great walk no need to worry about cars and it's usually windy up there and it's a beautiful view”
“There is a parking lot at one end of the dam, and even on the other side I see people parking and walking from that direction, but its not a parking lot there.”
