Confirmed from Ochoco State Scenic Viewpoint's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Picnicking state park offering hiking trails and scenic views of Prineville and its surroundings.
What runners say about Ochoco State Scenic Viewpoint
“Very beautiful in the late late evening 😍🌹❤️ Would recommend visiting before closing 💘 Perfect for kids sight seeing too 👍”
The vista from this park is stunning. Overlooking the thriving town of Prineville one can see the volcanic crowns of the bluffs surrounding this valley. My adventuring heart wants to pick a bluff and explore. With only 204 days of sun, this viewpoint is almost always clear.
Took a hike with my dad, early in the morning. The trails to the right, closest to the grade, were still shaded at 7:30 am, so they were pretty cool, even in early August. As it is pretty hilly, it's a nice hike in preparation for our 6 pack of peaks hikes.
Super fun mountain biking in Prineville -- stoked to see such fun trails being developed out here. Lots of man-made and natural features to ride over & through. Climbs are gradual and the downhills are a BLAST!
