Confirmed from Ogletree Gap Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“It's wide open The pavilion is beautiful the bathrooms are pretty clean and it's easy to get to.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“They were so organized and tried to keep everyone in the shade as well as having huge fans and mist machines.”

This is the second time I've been here. The first time it had rained the day before, so I didn't walk too far. However today was a nice day and walked towards the hill from the old post office building. I had two choices at the intersection go up the steep hill or left. I went left on a rocky road.

This was one of the best and so far my favorite dog walk I've had here in Cove. So beautiful and big, get ready to HIKE HIKE If you come.

Best place in Copperas Cove to get a run or hike in!! Plenty of trails to explore.

We greatly enjoy walking the paths in the wooded areas. When you park all the way to the end, head South up the hill, across the meadow if the main path is marshy. You'll find a good path there. I think there's a spring in that low area so it may always be marshy.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 6 mentions

“If you use Google maps satellite view you will find a path that leads you back to the big open field behind the post office and the parking lot.”

  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
