Confirmed from Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail - Wilbeth Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail - Wilbeth Road Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (330 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

We absolutely love this trail! Only 5 minutes from home so very convenient . You can walk along the Canal or head out to Summit lake on the floating towpath. Enjoy!

I love this trail very good for a nice stroll not to mention the wildlife is always a plus♥️

★★★★★ — Luvsharice , Jun 2023

Great trail. Accessible to all. Wildlife abounds here for sure! Nice flat surface, perfect for leisurely stroll, brisk walking or running. Not too busy. Only drawback is lack of shade. But, it is worth checking it out for all it does have to offer. One of my new favorite trails.

★★★★☆ — Tina , Oct 2019

Me and my family go here often! There is a restroom at the beginning and some seating scattered through different "checkpoints" in the trail. Good place for strollers, or to fish, go bike riding, or simply to take a walk.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
