Confirmed from Beech Street Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Beech Street Trailhead
“Beautiful artwork along the trail from Beech Street to the Interbelt Forest in downtown Akron.”
This is a beautiful spot on the Towpath Trail. We made the short walk from here to the Mustill store. The volunteers at the Mustill store were very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history of the area and the development of the canal. It was a very pleasant experience.
Another portion of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath. This trailhead is only accessible by walking. Not your typical trailhead. Travel South to Akron and you will see Locks 4, 3 and 2.
Another great section of the towpath. Beautiful artwork along the trail from Beech Street to the Interbelt Forest in downtown Akron. So much to see along the way.
A beautiful walk especially after a delicious meal from Lock 15 Brewery, which is a must try.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
