We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Oleta River State Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Urban park drawing nature-lovers with mangrove forest plus fishing, kayaking, biking & camping.
What runners say about Oleta River State Park
“The park is gorgeous, clean, and incredibly well-maintained, with a calm, laid-back vibe that’s hard to find in a city as busy as Miami.”
“My Bf and I love going kayaking or walking around the nature trails which give beautiful views of the bay and boats.”
“The water is crystal clear, calm, and pristine, creating a serene and very safe environment—perfect for families with kids of all ages.”
20 minutes walk from the bus stop is quiet convenient. And on a good weather day you walk faster than the cars drive into the park. Lots of little trails for hikers ans bikers with a lot of birds to see like Northern cardinal and Grey catbird, but also lizards and iguanas are around.
My fav state park in Miami! So underrated. My Bf and I love going kayaking or walking around the nature trails which give beautiful views of the bay and boats. The beach is shallow which is safe for kids and the whole place still feels not too overdeveloped.
If you’re looking for one of the most beautiful and peaceful escapes in Miami, this place is it. Oleta River State Park is easily one of the best parks in South Florida, and it never disappoints!!!!! ....no matter how many times you visit. From the moment you arrive, you feel the shift.
Wonderful park with activities for children and adults. We walked several trails, swam and rented kayaks to visit nearby islands. The area is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a trip. Notes: If you are going on the trails, bring bug spray! There is no place to change clothes, only 2 portable toilets.
