Confirmed from Original Homestead Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil park featuring a playground, plus nature trails, a river and the historic Bergquist cabin built in 1871.
What runners say about Original Homestead Park
“Beautiful park with many places to get great photos!”
“Small, out of the way, playground in a quiet neighborhood.”
Great place to go for a walk and check out the old history how this town started Fargo Moorhead. You will feel more of a history buff after visiting, have some tennis shoes which you dont mind getting dirty. There is also a Park for kids to play where our boy had lots of fun.
I thought this was like on a walking trail hidden away but it's not and not wheelchair accessible because of one curb so if you're in a wheel bring friends to help if you want to touch history. Otherwise kind of neat to see.
Very nice Historical Park with a playground and open field. It is also attached to the Moorhead River Corridor trail. The Bergquist Cabin, which is on the national register of historic places, is located on the south side of the 7th Street Cul-de-sac.
