Confirmed from Osage Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with well-maintained hiking trails that are good for children and people who prefer easier terrain.
What runners say about Osage Nature Trail
“Well maintained & chill trails in a state with few public green spaces.”

Was a great day for a walk on the nature trail. We went out this morning on this beautiful August Saturday and had the trails to ourselves. 😊❤️😊 We had some rains last night so we did have to trek thru some muddy areas. Thankfully, they had put some asphalt down in many areas reducing the amount of time in the mud.
Love this trail. There’s so much shade and the trails are mostly easy with a few steep hills. Beware of getting lost in the maze on the west side. Take a pic of the trail map at the beginning.
The main loop was about point 6 miles,i think. Plenty of opportunity for taking other trails off the main loop. Benches in shade pretty often on main loop. Very close to Harvey County Park and lake.
First time nice trails. Took the dog and had a great time. Will spent more time next time.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
