Confirmed from Overend Mountain Park Hidden Valley Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Overend Mountain Park Hidden Valley Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (41 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Beautiful, trails range in difficulty, there are a few rough patches, but an excellent place to spend an afternoon”

A beautiful park well worth tromping around in. Great for mountain biking, hiking, and running. That said, if you are on foot you will want to be listening for mountain bikers and get out of their way when you do encounter them - many are traveling at a quick pace and may not see you in time to avoid a collision.

Amazing landscapes and trails. Watch for mountain bikers. Trails can be steep and rough but beautiful area right inside Durango city limits.

★★★★★ — Marcia , Dec 2017

Love the hike the views are so beautiful you can see the whole town of Durango

★★★★★ — The , Dec 2019

A park with multiple trail loops in the hills at the edge of Durango. The entrance to the main trail is between two private driveways and can be easily missed. From the trails you get beautiful views of most of Durango. Parts of the trails are not shaded and exposed to the sun. Others curve between the trees.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
