We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Skyline Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Skyline Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (36 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“There are some great views at about the two mile point, from here you can venture for there on or turn back and come back through the switch backs.”

Loved this trail and my 4 year old was able to keep up. Make sure to take a little snack for a reward when you get to the top and with water. Took about 3 hrs to get up and 1 hr down.

★★★★★ — Ashley , Nov 2024

This is a beautiful hike with many viewpoints along the way. If you're using the All Trails map, plan to go just beyond the turnaround point, veering right, as you'll have a gorgeous view of the valley beyond. Totally worth the extra quarter mile.

★★★★★ — Shelby , May 2020

Fun little in town hike that connects to a larger trail system so you can hike as much or as little as you want. There is a paved parking area with plenty of parking and then the trailhead is immediately to the left of the parking area. Dogs are allowed on this trail but must be kept on a leash.

★★★★★ — Alysha , Dec 2022

The hike is a little exposed, but the further you go up, the more you get into forested areas. Great for hiking and biking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
