Confirmed from Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What a gorgeous place to visit. They have lots of different types of flowers and greenery. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our two favorite things of the Arboretum were: 1) The train gardens.

I grew up near the arboretum and hadn't been back there since the early 2000s, and boy has it changed! I visited during winter in February so there wasn't much green to see, but the stark beauty of the woods and landscaping along the trails and walkways was still wonderful.

Absolutely loved this place! For just $7, it offers a peaceful natural escape with beautiful trails, ponds, and lush greenery. The kids’ play area is fantastic — safe, clean, and fun. Great for family outings or solo nature walks.

My wife are in town visiting KC from SC. We absolutely loved the Overland Park Arboretum today. I am a model train fan so it was really fun to see the Train Garden. The other gardens and trails were nice too. The staff was very friendly. The park was very clean and well maintained.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
