Confirmed from Owen Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Neighborhood park featuring walking paths and playgrounds with swings and slides.
What runners say about Owen Park
“Beautiful park, great for walks or jogging.”
“A new cover over the play area gives some shade to the kids at play.”
I went here after lunch with my stepfather's mom today to walk around the trail, and I absolutely enjoyed myself. This particular park partially has atmosphere in common with J.R. Martin Park (after all, they are both on Hines Street) and Miller Park.
Small little park just off of Hines St & Bailey St. It is much smaller when compared to JR Martin Park. It has a small Playground suitable for toddlers up to adolescents. Republic Parks just recently updated the landscaping dropping in fresh mulch and have been working on the greenery as well.
It has enough equipment for the kids to have fun and stay busy for a while. They also have a good walking trail around the park thats good for wearing off the little bit of energy your kids have left before heading home.
Great safe walking trail with lots of space to picnic or stop at benches. Small parking lot and a pretty nice playground for kids to play on. If you play Pokemon Go, it has a gym to battle in and 2 Pokestops.

“This park does not have permanent restrooms but they have a family size Johnny on the Spot should you need to use the bathroom.”
“Nice community park with a short paved walking trail, playground, picnic tables, a lending library, movie swap, and community board (the last three are in the parking lot).”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
