Confirmed from Owens Station Crossing's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Nice quiet place-easy trail-a little buggy but that’s to be expected when your surrounded by swampy ground.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Nice quiet place-easy trail-a little buggy but that’s to be expected when your surrounded by swampy ground.”

Great little hideaway. Perfect for a causal and easy hike. And to fish. Very peaceful. With clean restrooms.

★★★★★ — Ed , Jun 2023

Great fishing spot with ample parking & composting restroom on site. Has a dock to launch kayaks but is really only suited for smaller kayaks, will not really work for wider fishing kayaks. Excellent walking trails plus the Liberty Loop Trail & Winding Waters Trail are also nearby.

★★★★★ — Nanette , Oct 2021

Hiking, fishing, picnic area, boat launch. Beautiful view of the ridge. Very well maintained walking trail on the former rail bed. Note that the NWR does not allow dogs or bikes on the trail south from this point.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 6 mentions

“I went there for a hunting class and I loved the views the mountains and the fields of wild flowers.”
