Confirmed from Oxbow Nature Conservancy's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Oxbow Nature Conservancy

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (75 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“Trails well kept, benches along trails and qr scans thru out detailing wildlife migrations, plants, etc.”

A great place for walkers, photographers, families, kayakers, painters, couples - everyone. The natural beauty and diverse flora & fauna of the Oxbow offer respite and adventure. Although this is a safe place, it is a natural area.

Beautiful place to see wetlands and wetland animals. Some of the trails are mowed grass paths, which is fine. However they are plagued with poison ivy and it is impossible to avoid. There is a gravel road that is clean, so you can avoid the ivy. This is a flat hike, so good for anyone that is avoiding hills.

My wife and I came here and had a lovely time walking next to the lake. We hoped to see some Pelicans that had been blown North but they were too far away to get a picture. The herons were delightful.

A very peaceful nature conservatory. It is even a pleasant drive. The roadway is a dirt and gravel mix with many potholes. I highly recommend families and folks who love nature or photography to make a visit.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🪨 Crushed gravel / limestone 3 mentions

“The hiking is mostly gravel back roads and there are some bush-wacked trails but bring pants because they are over grown/studded with poison ivy.”
