Confirmed from Oxnard Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Oxnard Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (82 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“It's the day after a rainy night, but the park looks clean and has a nice path We saw some pretty big paw prints in the mud.”

Great for exploring. even tho they have a lot of mosquitoes in the summertime, I still enjoy my journey. I love to see abandoned things left behind in the past, just like the chimney that is on the trails. I swear that this chimney is here, just go take a look.😆

Small decent park. The kids enjoyed it. Has a nice walking trail that leds to an old fireplace. Would be nice to know a little history of the fireplace. Overall nice park to have a nice little walk.

★★★★☆ — Erik , Feb 2023

The old chimney along the trail used to be the big draw here, but it was taken down, probably for safety reasons. The playground structure doesn't have a slide anymore, but they installed a climbing structure where it used to be. The hiking trails are pretty awesome, and it's a nice place to hang out and relax.

there's an outdoor pool there in the summer but other than that there isn't a whole lot more. A couple paths to walk your dogs but overall if you're looking for a quick little walk it's not a bad park at all

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
