Confirmed from Paine Falls Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (647 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“The park is a beautiful little spot, especially if you’re looking for a quick visit to enjoy a scenic view.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“It’s a great stop if you’re passing by or want a peaceful moment in nature, but not a place for longer hikes or activities.”

Absolutely beautiful falls. It's a very short walk to the falls from the parking lot. You can see the falls from the parking lot if you don't want to go down all the stairs. The falls is spectacular. You can't ger very close because its fenced off. The bridge going over the falls makes it even prettier.

★★★★★ — Gerime , May 2023

The park is a beautiful little spot, especially if you’re looking for a quick visit to enjoy a scenic view. The waterfall itself is stunning and makes for a great overlook. There are a few seating areas where you can relax and take in the falls.

★★★★★ — S. , May 2025

This is a nice waterfall. You can see it from the parking lot, so someone who can't traverse steps can enjoy viewing this waterfall. We went down the 70 steps. It was peaceful as we were the only people at the park. There was another walking trail, but a thunderstorm was rolling in, so we decided to not hike it.

★★★★☆ — Carol , Jun 2024

Nice waterfalls just off highway, less than a few hundred feet. Requires doing stairs to get to the base, but can be visible from the parking lot. Site has facilities without running water, typical rural setup.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
