Confirmed from Partridge Island Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Partridge Island Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (39 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“The trail is really clean and well kept.”

If you're looking for scenery, do NOT come during winter. It is not a long trail either. It is perfect for a dog walk or a quick walk to clear your mind. The trail is really clean and well kept. The board walk could use some fixing in some areas. But I could tell they are slowly working on it!.

I did .75 miles in 25 minutes. An easy hike through the woods to a couple of long boardwalks, which I love. You are surrounded by swamps and wildflowers with a viewing platform and a bench to take it all in. No bugs at this time. Park across the entrance on Heritage Lane.

Small nature spot with a boardwalk going over/through a marsh, somewhat secluded given that this space is off a main road. A nice place for a walk if you’re looking for something quick and not too strenuous. Definitely recommend coming to see this at least once if you’re in the area.

Short trail. As of now it definitely needs maintenance as a few boards are missing and sections are sinking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
