Confirmed from Paseo de la Mesa Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Nice quiet trail with my dogs.”
I ride this beautiful trail quite often with my wife, and at times, the kids too. It’s right up the way from Boca Negra canyon and It’s paved from start to finish that takes you up and around the volcanos and has beautiful views of the mountains to the east and the volcanos to the west.
Beautiful area. Great for walking but given the length biking would be even more enjoyable. Nice fields and great views of the mountains. Good amount of parking too. Some doggy stations at the beginning of the park and a few benches throughout the path.
Lots of open space and trails are fairly easy to follow. Beautiful scenery to look at .
Paved trail that ascends slowly as you head west. There are benches to sit, on but no shade structures.
